History Vol.2 from November 1998 -

Remembering of ASLAN
In 1998
November,
One of their good friends, Yasuo Nakajima who was a member of "Fukkoku-Souseiki", introduced Kenji Tanaka to ASLAN. Kenji was "yes" and "Steve Howe" fan for long long time. Tsukasa called on the phone to Kenji to have some sessions to play some of "yesmusic". At the first session, Kenji brought the only Green Stratcaster guitar which was not looks like "Steve Howe" but "Travor Rabin".
December
At the 2nd session, Kenji appeared at the rehearsal studio with the electric sitar, the steel guitar and the semi acoustic guitar. It was one of the most impressed happening for the band.
In 1999
New ASLAN started truly. They really had so much rehearsal time and many sessions for training to create New ASLAN sound.
5th-September
It was a special day for the band. They stood on the stage as headliner. After this stage, the band ordered Shoji to be band producer of ASLAN and they made CD in memory of this show. This CD cover jacket was designed by Kusumi Kisamachi. This cover design was proudly called "Blue Close to the Edge" by ASLAN members.
27th-November
ASLAN had the most important show at Kichijouji Silver Elephant that they had never done. Silver Elephant is the special place for Japanese progressive rock scene. ASLAN deeply think Silver Elephamt is one of the sanctuaries for them and for other Japanese progressive rock guys, too.
In that night, ASLAN performed too many "yesmusics" with too many kinds of musical instruments. After 5th-Sep show, before this show, "yes" released the last album "The Ladder". Shoji, as producer, requested ASLAN to play "Homeworld". After this decision, Tsukasa called on the phone to one of his good friends, Tsunehiro Murakami to join to the band to play only "Homeworld. Once in a time, Tsunehiro was a member of "yes" copy band "Eris" and then, he was a member of oriental sounded progressive rock band "Pediment".
In this show, the stage was decorated with painted large cloth art work like Roger Dean. This was made for this show by Kusumi Kisamachi. When 27th-Nov-show was scheduled in spring, Kusumi had one terrible plan to carry on to build and form "crab-nebula-stage". But this plan was not carried away because it would take high-cost.

25th-May,
Over 300 hundred people gathered at Harajuku Ruido. ASLAN played 11 yessongs. but before this gig, we delete 2 songs because of the length of the playing time. we cut off ' 5% of Nothing and ' All Good People '.
Masahiro Nakamura sang ' Nine Voices ', but the audience did not know what he sangs.
This was wonderful night, because 3 tribute bands gathered. AMSTERDUM played classical King Crimson songs. GERARD played EL&P, King Crimson and Banco songs.
Tsukasa Mizuguchi was extreamly excited, because Egawa Toshio , who was the keyboard player, from GERARD was one of his favorite musicians in Japan...Tsukasa told with Mr. Egawa and got the signs and took the photographs with him.
The CD named ' Tribute to Close to the Edge ' was sold before Disk Union would sell. The CD was sold out .
