The Sohgen-Ten (9th Nov 2003)

On Sunday, I went to the Sohgen-Ten.
The Sohgen-Ten is a calligraphy exhibition.
My friend seen from Haiku displayed her calligraphy in the exhibition,
And it got an award from the exhibition.
It was one of 100 chosen from about 1300 calligraphies.
There were many kind of calligraphies.
For example, there were Kanji's (Chinese character), Kana's, Modern poems and seal engravings.
Her calligraphy was a Modern poem.

The poem is as follows.

After going up the pass "Ishijizoh", I go down the road.
The tunnel of young leaves wait for me its mouth open.

My friend is a teacher of calligraphy and a Haiku poet.
I saw her at her one-person show of calligraphy in Ginza 6 years ago.
Because she wanted to use my essay "A-Un no Kokyu" in the Haiku journal "Haku" as the base of her calligraphy "A-Un".
Of course, I said Okay straight away.
She displayed my essay with her calligraphy "A-Un".
My essay went well with her calligraphy "A-Un"

After that I became a friend with her.

That's all.
