The Introduction of the Classic Radio

This page is the introduction of the NAMIYON radio (TELEVIAN) manufactured by YAMANAKA electric machinery stock company. This radio is the one which I introduced in the number of September, 1999 of magazine " Mobile Ham ".

The Characteristic of the NAMIYON radio (TELEVIAN)

   ・Cabinet : plywood, side-type, 37cm width, 24cm height, 18cm depth

   ・Dial : turn dial with the celluloid cover

   ・Vacuum Tube : UZ-57, UY-56, UX-12A, KX-12F

   ・Loudspeaker : magnetic speaker with the metallic frame

   ・Power Supply Transformer : with no fuse

   ・Plate : made from aluminum, written the following words, 
              " The Kyushu electric machinery stock company recommendation, TELEVIAN (KYU-DEN type), 
             Tokyo, YAMANAKA electric machinery stock company manufacturing, OMORI"

There are the tuning graduation and the tuning dial which was directly put to the shaft of variable condenser on the upper right - as you face it. The controls under them are for the power supply switch ( the left ), and the timbre, the volume adjustment ( the right ).

Three vacuum tubes in front are UY-56, UX-12A, KX-12F from the left. The power supply transformer is at the center, the magnetic speaker is on the right.

The cover of the tuning graduation is made from celluloid. Therefore, the cover is discoloring yellowly and it becomes hard to see. There are the graduation from 0 to 10 and the letters of " TELEVIAN KYU-DEN type ".
