A Gathering for a Buddhist Service at a Temple-Oeshiki
Oeshiki is a Buddhist memorial service held at the Head Temple Yuseiji
and all other temples throughout the country in order to repay and
express thanks for the great grace of our three great saints, namely,
the great Bodhisattva Nichiren, our highest religious ancestor and
Saint Nichiryu, our great religious ancestor and Saint Nissen, the
founder and the great leader of HBS. These memorial services are also
called `Daie'. The memorial service for Saint Nichiren is called `Koso-e'
and observed at the Head Temple Yuseiji on October, the anniversary
of Saint Nichiren's death.
That for Saint Nichiryu is called `Monso-e' or `Gokaisan-e' and usually
held on April at the Head temple though Saint Nichiryu passed away
on the 25th of February. The memorial service for Saint Nissen is
called `Kaido-e' and every year observed on July which falls on the
anniversary of his death. |
