2. A group-Kumi

Kumi means a group of lay followers for religious activities. It is in some places called Bu. A group usually consists of ten to thirty families of lay followers. Groups are formed in every temple of HBS throughout Japan. Religious activities such as Oko (lecture meetings) are performed from group to group.
