How to use the icons on your PC(Windows)

Windowsの場合、デスクトップ上の限定されたアイコン、 ショートカットや、カーソールはアイコンを変更することが出来ます。

■マイコンピュータやごみ箱を変えるには、
｢デスクトップで右クリック｣＞｢アクティブデスクトップ｣＞
｢デスクトップのカスタマイズ｣＞｢効果｣＞｢アイコンの変更｣
で変えられます。

■ショートカットアイコンを変えるには、ショートカットアイコンを右クリック｢プロパティー｣の｢アイコンの変更｣から変えられます。

■カーソル(.cur .ani)を変えるには、｢コントロールパネル｣＞｢マウス｣＞｢ポインタ｣から変更可能です。

上記以外の他のアイコンを変更するには、別途アイコンを変更するためのソフトが必要となります。 いくつかフリーソフトがありますが、私は｢窓の手｣を使っています。Windows95,98,ME,2000,XPに対応し、フォルダごとにアイコンを変えられるようになります。 使い方は、ソフトの説明書を読んでください。

注意：
｢窓の手｣はアイコンを変更する以外にも色々な機能がありますが、 初心者が他の機能を使う場合は、十分注意した方が良いと思います。

To change the My Computer, My Documents, My Network Places (also called the Network Neighborhood), or Recycle Bin icons, follow these steps:
  1. Right click the desktop.
  2. Choose Properties from the menu.
  3. In the properties dialog, select the "Effects" or "Plus!" tab.
  4. Select the icon you wish to change.
  5. In the icon selection window, press the "Browse" button.
  6. Use the file selection dialog to locate to the folder that contains the icons you downloaded.
  7. Choose the ICO file you want to use as a replacement and press "Open".
  8. Press "OK" in the icon selection window and on the properties dialog.
You can also change the icon for a shortcut using these steps:
  1. Right click the shortcut.
  2. Choose Properties from the menu.
  3. In the properties dialog, press the "Change Icon" button to open the icon selection window.
  4. In the icon selection window, press the "Browse" button.
  5. Use the file selection dialog to locate to the folder that contains the icons you downloaded.
  6. Choose the ICO file you want to use as a replacement and press "Open".
  7. Press "OK" in the icon selection window and on the properties dialog.
