Dearest Harumasa Yokoi, Konnichiwa and greetings from the UK Muslim community.
I received your letter a long while back now, nearly 9months to be precise. I am sorry to write to you so late. I might also post my reply to you. The reason for such long delay is because, initially I could not get my head around the fact that someone could be telling the truth by claiming that they have directly heard the station’s AM frequency all the way on the other side of World, i.e. Japan. It sounded unreal and a hoax. However, I never disregarded your letter nor let it out from the safety of a locked office drawer inside my locked office, as a journalist I wanted to investigate before reaching the final conclusion. I have been doing research and asking around, whenever I got some spare time, and finally concluded that despite my serious reservations your claim is genuine and authentic.

I then developed an admiration for people like you and as you were the first one to make such claim, then naturally you became sort of a very special person for the station since I took over. I then decided that in due course I will frame your letter and other evidence to hang on my wall as a tribute, as well as the SAE and your five-pound note are safe with me as memory. In my humble view it became an asset for our station and something that needed to be recognised and preserved.

We say in English ‘Better Late than never’. Today I can confirm officially that attached details your letter as well as all the oter content of your letter, your claims about when you heard what and occupying evidence, was all accurate and spot on! In other words, I can now confirm that the broadcast you heard was indeed ours and we have checked and your observations/claims were all accurate. We thank you for getting in touch and keeping us posted. I do hope you will personally pop in and grant us the pleasure of your company if you are ever in our neck of the woods.

I personally am fascinated with what the few of you around the globe do, because since you wrote to me I had four more letters. Your hobby sounds like science fiction but of a positive kind. I find your hobby so unique and so special that I have lots of respects and admiration for you and your peers around the globe. I wrote to one of your fellows just the other day and informed him that“possibly you might be 'last of Mahicans' of the old ways. A very special and rare breed of humans indeed and mankind will miss humans like you who give so much of their time holding onto the good technologies we are in process of abandoning or surrendering to more dictatorial technologies, especially once they are taken over by Ai type life styles; and I believe we are not far from that milestone. I say this because overall trust in computers, Ai and various other technologies is growing faster than trust in each other as humans and this can't be good for our future generations.”I thank you for sharing your lovely hobby/past time activity with us, we are very honoured that you decided to get in touch with us and share your beautiful and fascinating life with us; THANK YOU!
I hope you will stay in touch and keep us posted if you ever come across our broadcast again.
Kind Regards

Hi Harumasa Yokoi

Thankyou for the report on our 1476 kHz transmissions in the Japan it is most welcome and thankyou for the recordings. This is absolutely amazing and is the best DX report so far. I am most interested in your setup and you are most dedicated to the hobby. The loop antenna always seem to work well on MF and hence the popularity.

Regarding our tx I can send on a pic if you are interested, it uses PA tubes and is a hybrid design into a helical aerial similar to a mast used on Radio Caroline many years ago. So far we have had 5000+ reports from as far away as Canada, USA, Brazil, Chile and more so it seems to work well.

If you would like to see us and our aerials take a look at our youtube video it is 18mins long but explains a lot about us and our three stations
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLsiylMpqXo the tx you heard is on the video.
Thanks again your report it is much appreciated and may I wish you many more years of happy radio and here's to a better 2021.

Kind Regards
