Last week I fell as sleep and missed my stop on the Yamanote line. Taking my mistake's subject opportunity Nadia asked me "How many minutes does one round?" I answered, "It takes about one hour."
Today I'll tell you about an article I read in Asahi News paper on January 24th.
This year the Yamanote line is 80 years old. Now The JR-East Company worked on speeding it up. All Cars on the Yamanote line will be changed new one on April. Next year one round it will be 3 minutes shorter, and it will take less than 60 minutes. The Yamanote line that called Tokyo's artery and is used by 1.3 billion passengers will start new age this year.
JR East said that the Yamanote line start on 1925 and it took 75 minutes. By 1988 it took 62 minutes because of improved new cars. Now the JR East is going to use new digitalized ATC (Automatic Train Control System). So the cars will be have good brake efficiency, and its running time will be shorter than now. Its brakes will be softer than now because of the digitalized system, and there will be only a time between train and train. The JR East can run 26 trains per one hour in the future from 24 train per hour in now.
JR East will change all 600 cars to new roundish one's named E231 system before April. There are changed to new one 70 % have been already been changed. The JR East said, " effective will increase and it will be comfortable."
