At beach of Mooloolaba, Sunshine Coast

8 o'clock in the morning. It was rather clouded at domestic counter in Melbourne airport. I stand behind the long line of economy class, having some jealousy to the next line of Qantas Club counter where only few people are attended by almost the same number of staff of Qantas. It took me more than an hour to reach to the counter.

I presented an e-ticket to the young female staff, and fianlly got a boarding card to Brisbane. After the flight of one and half hour, we arrived Brisbane airport, and received the red colored Falcon that I had reserved at JALPAC in Mulgrave Melbourne. It was another an hour drive to arrive Bribie Island where we were going to stay for next several weeks. One year had already past since we came here last time. We had checked in the same lodging, Sylvan Beach Resort that was the condominium style hotel where people can enjoy rather long stay with full house facilities.

Entrance of Hotel in Bribie Island

We noticed that we had got lost one of our new colleague on the way, who happen to be the first time to come to Bribie Island. He is the immigrant from Poland living in Australia for 16 years. His English is still not fluent though his stay in Australia is so long. But he had real bright character and is loved by everyone. He has a large house in the suburbs of Mulgrave, and has two sons, thir two sons are already grown up and now living in London. He must be one of the success immigrants from Poland. We appreciate his work attitude very much, because he worked quite industrious, and has good knowledge of basic radio devices. He does all kind of works that sometimes engineer hates to do. He must be a very good local partner during our mission in Australia.

First day was busy buying foods for next seven days in Bribie Island. We called it a day a bit early and went to the super market that we had used last time. The layout of the shop was just the same as before, that made us easy to shop around. Back to the hotel and put the foods in the fridge in the room, and we went out to Chinese restaurant Lai that is the only one Chinese in the island.
We found the same staff working in the restaurant. Not like the Chinese restaurant in Melbourne, waitress in this restaurant is not a Chinese, but maroon haired Aussy girl. It seemed that the taste even had become better than before.

That was the moment when we almost finished our dinner, the guy we had got lost on the way from Brisbane airport, had just stepped into the restaurant. All we relieved that he was on the right way. I asked him, how did he found this restaurant, even he was first time to be in Bribie Island. He showed me a tip of paper where all the necessary information of the island were written in order. I reckoned that he had prepared a survival for himself.

A lucky charm was always brought with bill in the end. I slowly opened the lucky charm that was wrapped with the small sweet cooky. What was written in the lucky charm,,,,, "Romance is risky tonight.". Ah, no luck again!! I had got to my room and went to bed straight.

In the next morning, took a breakfast of croissant, chock-cooky and a cup of coffee. It was only when I put the second cooky into my mouse, I felt something unusual in my mouse. I saw the cookies in the bag and instantly undertood an alert. Cookies are covered with full of small ants. I already ate scores of ants with two pieces of cookies. A bad luck even on the second day in this island. Or just an ass I am.

Bribie island is the resort island for retired rather rich pensioners. A great many luxurious resort type houses are settled or on sale. You can see no beach girls around, but many elegantly aged couples in mall, restaurants and beach promenade. A long bridge links the island with main land. It remind me a Singapore that is connected to Johor Baar of Malaysia with single bridge and a thick water pipe. Water for islanders is supplied with a thick water pipe paralleled with the bridge.

I strolled along the white sandy beach. Beyond the end of promenade, beaches with mangrove trees stretches out. I walked into mangrove beach, and found that the sand makes squeak, crispy sound. Some people were enjoying fishing at the cost. This country seems rich, or too rich in abundant land, nature and mineral resources. On the other hand, in this moment, millions of people starving to death.in remote areavof the earth Is this the unavoidable tolerance of human being that have been out numbered everywhere on earth.
