The S & T Collection means various old
photographic papers Sengo and Mieko Tadokoro, two photographers living
and working in Paris, have found in antique fairs in France.
In French old photographic reviews and catalogs
of cameras there can be found really a lot of advertisements of diverse
makers on their photographic papers. We feel much that photographers in
the past would care more about the photographic papers at the time when
black and white photography and contact printing were major.
We regret much that the "character"
has disappeared from each photographic paper as speedy and handy are the
key words not only for cameras but also for photosensitive materials, although
a recent silent boom of black and white photography brings back our attention
to the photographic paper as material for the final expression.
This show is a sort of homage to the photographic
papers and we present old potographic papers of Kodak's in the S &
T Collection. Using Kodak's "Ektalure" paper Sengo presents the
works of nudes and Mieko Tadokoro, those of the cemetery of Père
Lachaise.
