Reflection is sometimes so capricious
that it easily escapes our retina.

To reveal it as if under a watchful eye and print it on film,
I use a magic box with a tiny hole in it called STÉNOPÉ.

This camera, which has no viewfinder,
isn't supposed to be an extension of the human eye,
but an accomplice to the unexpected,
which will bring me prey some time later.

Instead of the click of an SLR, the light pierces the darkness
slowly and silently through this small hole
to calm the waves of the water surface
and confuse the perspective on glass panes.

All reflection done before the shot, and I wait
for the reflection to reveal itself in my darkroom tank.
The complicity between reflection and the pinhole
always fascinates me.
