BANGOR, Maine ?Two state universities in Maine are getting new presidents.University of Maine <a href=https://www.cup-stanley.es>stanley spain</a> System trustees on Tuesday approved the appointments of new presidents at the University of Maine at <a href=https://www.stanley-cup.com.de>stanley shop</a> Farmington and the University of Maine at Presque Isle.Kathryn Foster, who is a visiting fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C., will become president of the Farmington school. She is replacing Theodora Kalikow <a href=https://www.stanley-cup.com.de>stanley cup becher</a> , who is retiring after 18 years on the job. UMF is a true gem in public higher education, and I am deeply honored that Chancellor Page and the UMS Trustees have invited me to become the next president, Foster said. To be asked to build on Theo Kalikows singular leadership and burnish the UMF legacy is an exceptional privilege. Linda Schott will take the top job in Presque Isle. She is currently a dean at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo., and is replacing Donald Zillman, who is returning to teaching at the University of Maine School of Law in Portland.System Chancellor James Page recommended Schott for the UMPI presidency last month. I am greatly honored that Chancellor Page and the Board of Trustees have entrusted the leadership of the University of Maine at Presque Isle to me, Schott said. During my visits to the campus, I was struck by the commitment and dedication of the faculty and staff, and I look forward to becoming part of an excellent team already in place. Foster and Schott start July 1 and will receive annual salaries of $160,000 each. I ver |
