< What is an Illegal Resident? >
An illegal resident shall mean;
1. A foreigner who has entered or landed in Japan without a
valid passport, a visa, a landing permission, etc. (illegal entry
or landing).
2. A foreigner who is staying in Japan beyond his authorized
period of stay without a permission for extension (over-stay).
An illegal resident shall be subject to deportation. When deported, he can not enter Japan for 5 years from the date of deportation. As to details, please refer to "Deportation".
