Kung Fu is a synonym for Chinese martial arts?

Many people think that Kung Fu is one style of Chinese martial arts, don’t you think? Originally Kung Fu is a word expressing high technology in various fields, but since Bruce Lee introduced Kung Fu, it seems the word Kung Fu has become synonymous with Chinese martial arts. Tai Chi, Shaolin quan and all other Chinese martial arts are all called kung fu.

There are many kinds of Chinese martial arts. Such as Jet Li and Jackie Chan's Shaolin Fist and Drunken, Tai Chi, imitating the shapes of animals schools such as dragons and tigers, Martial arts imitating the shapes of animals such as dragons and tigers, Bagua zhang organized by I Ching (Yi Jing) theory etc. If you want to become healthy, we recommend Tai Chi that use breathing method and qigong method, and Bagua zhang that like flowing style. Can I become win against a enemy that bigger than I?

This is a question that everyone has once, who learned of martial arts, not only beginners but experienced. I write it in "martial arts materials", but the body is one of the elements of martial arts. You should think a large body people has advantage one of those elements than you. It would be OK if you exceed your opponent with other factors such as speed and accuracy of attack, speed of conscious reaction, agility, etc. However, if the enemy is not an amateur they will have elements other than physique, so ultimately it will be summed up all the elements including the physique, then which technology is comprehensively high?

I can’t use technologies if there is a physical gap between the opponent.

In the case of Jiu-jutsu etc., in the beginning, your power is easy to collide with the opponent. In such a case, the physical gap will have a big influence, and you can’t use technology for bigger partners than you. You may have seen a small person throw away a far bigger opponent by jiu-jitsu or judo.
Don’t resist the force of the opponent, let's parry the opponent's force by rotating, and let your power work on his weak points. If you use a linear force, the opponent unconsciously resists it, so you always use two-way force (circle), preferably three-direction force (spiral). It is necessary to practice and acquire the movement of circles and spirals well.
If you put your strength in the part you touched, you will receive the opponent's drag, so you touch as soft as possible. You should always practice with the consciousness that break the center of the opponent by a spiral movements. Also, you don't moving the hand with the force of only hand. You always be conscious of the midline, transmit force from the feet to the waist, back, shoulder blades, shoulder, elbow, hand. You making the whole body consistent from toe to top of the head gives you great power.
Your whole body should move consistently and spiral, and by applying a force to a weak part (or direction) without colliding with the force of the opponent, it will become smooth techniques.
The timing which you use techniques is also important. In judo this is called Kuzushi. Even if a big person is standing firmly you will not move him easily, but when he go down the stairs, you can push him to fall down easily.
In the match of judo, we always watched they throwing the opponent when the moment the opponent has lost balance. But there are also many games that they unable to catch timing to use throwing technique to the last of match. You will see how difficult it is to catch the timing for use a technique.
In Jiu-Jitsu, you should break the balance of the opponent at the moment they exert power. There is a story. When a person suddenly to held a Jiu-Jutsu master from behind with his full power, the master said him [Is your power so such a weak? ] , then he tried to put more power, at that moment the master took his arm and threw him forward.
The word Riai is often used in traditional martial arts. There are so many elements in Riai, including the standing position, distance, placement of center of gravity, direction of movement, position, speed, state of consciousness, etc. Because these elements will always change, in order to respond flexibly according to circumstances, you should learn correctly from a good teacher, always keep it in mind, and practice repeatedly.
