Chaquan

Chinese martial arts proverb says [South hand, North leg, Shandong Cha, Hebei Ji] Chaquan in Shandong province is a representing “North leg” along with Jijiao in Hebei Province. It is also one of the most widely handed Kung Fu among the Muslims in northern China.
Southern Kung Fu use a lot of hand techniques, Northern Kung Fu use a lot of kicks, the movements of Northern Kung Fu are dynamic and very fast. There are 10lu Chaquan, 4lu Huaquan, 3lu Baoquan, 4lu Hongquan, 3lu Feijiao etc. Others are 6lu Duanquan prearranged kumite, 4lu Chaquan prearranged kumite, and many wepons, and wepon’s prearranged kumite.

History of Chaquan

In the late Ming Dynasty Japanese pirates often invaded the southeastern coast of China. To fight against these pirates, Emperor of Ming was recruited soldiers in the wide area of China. Qi Jiguang became a general, he organized an army and went east.
Cha Mier(Shangyi) is a person in Xinjiang tribe, he leaves the country to participate in the anti-Japanese pirates army, when he came to Guan prefecture Shandong Province on his journey, he suffered from illness and stayed in there for medical treatment for a while. He got a nursing care of the people in this place, his illness was soon healed, he taught his Kung Fu in this place for giving back.
After that, people called the martial arts "Chaquan". Chaquan became popular in Shandong, Henan, Hebei provinces.
In another theory, General Hua Zongqi was injured in fight of rebellion in Tang Dynasty. He recovered by the care of the people in Zhangyin village. He taught them Kung Fu in this place for return the favor. After that he invited Cha Yuanyi(Shangyi) who is his senior apprentice, they taught Kung Fu there together.
At this time the Kung Fu that Hua Zongqi taught was called Dajiaquan, and Cha Yuanyi taught was called Xiaojiaquan, then they came to be called Huaquan and Chaquan, Even now it is training both Huaquan and Chaquan together.
Currently Chaquan is designated as one of the four great Kung Fu of Shandong province. Others are Danglangquan, Wenshengquan, and Sunbinquan. Chaquan became one of the famous Chinese martial arts.

Shaolin Luohan 18shou

Shaolin Temple (Songshan Henan Province China) is the birthplace of Zen by Bodhidharma who came from India to China. It is also well known as the birthplace of Shaolin Kung Fu.
According to traditional text of "Shaolin Kung Fu", in the era of Sui, There was a Kung Fu priest at Shaolin Temple, he has created one style of Kung Fu from 18 fighting form painted on wall paintings, he called this "Shaolin Luohan shou".

There are eighteen techniques in the Shaolin Luohan 18shou, it is very simple configuration, only makes a round trip, it has 24 forms. there are six kinds of fist method, two kinds of hand method, one kind of elbow method, four kinds of leg method and five kinds of holding techniques, and there are different application methods for each, there are attack and defense techniques. Each technique has many changes. It seems to be simple and easy to learn but in fact it’s a deep practice.
After learning the Kata to be done alone, it can be applied as a prearranged kumite, it is a very excellent type of Kung Fu to acquire the basic of Kung Fu techniques.

Mt.Wudang in Hubei Province China is the Taoist Holy Land opened by Zhang Sanfeng, he is a Daoist Priest from the end of the Yuan Dynasty to the beginning of the Ming Dynasty.
Zhang Sanfeng's Kung Fu is called Wudang Wushu, it is world famous as the major Kung Fu of China alongside Shaolin Kung Fu of Shaolin Temple in Song Mountain.


Xianwuquan

Xianwuquan has the another name Liangyiquan. According to the teachings of Taoism” Yin and yang combine and become a Taiji, divided become a Liangyi”. Xianwuquan sometimes moves quickly at other times moves slowly, because hard and soft, fast and slow are change endlessly, so it is called Liangyi.
Xianwuquan is made of major methods of Tai Chi, Bagua, Xingyi, and XInyiliuhe. It is whole-body training, and strengthens the muscles and bones, improve blood circulation and cultivate energy. It can be also used as a self-defense.
There are techniques of Xu Shi, Qiao, Bian, Zha. Chinna, Dianda, and Yuanjie, use the leg method if the enemy is far, and attack with the hand, shoulder, knee, elbow if it is close.
This is a Kung Fu that is conducive to health, can be used for battle, and has a Qigong method. That style is sometimes like a dragon and sometimes like a tiger, and to attack like lightning.
That style is always wait for enemie to move first in the battle, and the moment the enemy moves they attack him first. It is a secret technique of the Wudang Wushu.
