[Re-entry Permission]

  When you leave Japan temporarily and return to continue your stay within your authorized period of stay, you shall apply for and obtain a re-entry permission prior to leaving Japan. This permission may be obtained on the spot.

  The validity of permission is limited to within the present period of stay and shall not exceed 3 years.


[Leaving Japan without a Permission]

  When you leave Japan without a re-entry permission, you shall lose your status of residence and shall have a new visa issued at a Japanese embassy or consulate abroad when returning to Japan.
